The 2023 statistics on the increase in cybercrime targeting elderly populations was recently published by the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). The following video describes some of the data and highlights the empirical evidence from nine additional cybersecurity companies showing trends in the threat landscape.
The data from the IC3 report show a significant increase in both the number of victims and the financial impact as shown on the figure below.
