Congratulations to Harm Jan van Burg<\/a>, Senior Policy Advisor, International Standards at OASIS Open, on his election as Vice Chair of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe<\/a> (UNECE)\u2019s Team of Specialists on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Traceability<\/a> of Sustainable Value Chains in the Circular Economy.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

The Team of Specialists supports ESG traceability systems for more responsible and sustainable consumption and production patterns (United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 12<\/a>). ESG traceability can allow the global value chain to be managed more sustainably. Technology and information exchange standards play a leading role in supporting traceability in a wide range of sectors, including agri-food, fishery, garment and footwear, minerals, transport and e-waste management.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

Informed decisions for sustainable production and consumption can lead to increased cooperation between countries and more successful climate change policies and actions. Globally-aligned standards can measure targets and help transform climate commitments into action.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
